Eisabeta Lipă: “Romanian sports needs T.R.A.S.”
PRESS RELEASE
At the launch event of the Romanian Sports Arbitration Tribunal, Elisabeta Lipă, president of the National Sports Agency and five-time Olympic gold medalist in rowing, gave a speech. She expressed her support for T.R.A.S., considering that Romanian sports need this sports jurisdiction.
“I am honored to be here tonight with you, great specialists in the legal field who have decided to also focus on the sports area. Romanian sports need you, the Romanian Sports Arbitration Tribunal, and I am glad to be here with you, along with so many people from the sports world, federation presidents, at this official launch. I am extremely pleased with what I have heard. We need your advice and a legislation that meets the needs of 21st-century sports.
It is hard in sports because you always need help, and the help you offer today means a lot to us. I hope that together with you we can amend this sports law. I confess that my ambition has not left me, and since I have returned, after seven years, this time as head of the National Agency for Sport, my ambition remains constant. As I deeply love sports, I want us to find a solution to all existing problems. Both for the agency and for the sports federations, as I see here many federation presidents who face smaller or larger problems, not to mention this recent RIL, which we do not really understand.
We need your support so that the federations can address all the legal aspects necessary for functioning in accordance with current provisions. Performance comes from order and discipline, and I am sure that through order and discipline you have become professionals.
I am glad that the Romanian Sports Arbitration Tribunal will help Romanian sports, and I thank you for taking some of your precious time to help this sports area, which has brought us many satisfactions over the years. I hope sports will continue to bring you beautiful results, and together we can make the sports world better than it is now. I believe and feel that together we can improve the face of Romanian sports
