History of T.RA.S.
Established in March 2023, the Romanian Court of Sports Arbitration (T.R.A.S.) is an independent entity from any sports organization whose purpose is to resolve sports-related disputes through arbitration or mediation according to procedural rules adapted to the specific needs of sports law, being placed under the administrative and financial authority of the Romanian Sports Arbitration Association (R.S.A.A.)
Mission of T.R.A.S.
In a national context in which 3,897 judges from the local courts, tribunals and appeals courts in Romania had to resolve a number of 3,759,358 cases in 2022. The Romanian Court of Sports Arbitration aims to become the benchmark of arbitration in sports law from the perspective of professionalism being an alternative to other international courts of sports arbitration even from the cost-efficient perspective, where specialized arbitrators in sports law are sitting and conducting the procedure.
Board of Directors
The Panel of Arbitrators met on 21st of August 2021 and appointed the President of TRAS, the Vice-President of TRAS and the Board of Directors. The President of TRAS is Prof Dr. Cristian Jura; Vice-President of TRAS: Lec. Univ. Dr. Andrea Chiș; Member: Av. Ovidiu Miheț.
